House for Sale

Hi everyone!
So, the news up here is that it is official. Our house in Shutesbury is now on the market. We listed it on Saturday, with Jones Town and Country's Jaqui Zuzgo. We are praying for a speedy sale since we already have a P & S agreement on a house in Amherst at 38 Lessey Street. We head into town this afternoon for the home inspection on that place. Meanwhile, the carpenters are scheduled to complete work on the Shutesbury siding project today and & tomorrow. This weekend Baird packed some of his "stuff" into boxes to take to storage and I raked off the back gardens. Ben and I also burned lots of junk out in the firepit. Well, still lots to do! ttfn

One More Weekend Done

So, perhaps this is only of interest to me but here goes. This is another end of weekend update from, Shutesbury, MA. We put the basics of the living room and new bedroom together. It is looking more like home again. We can sit down without sheet rock dust sticking to us for instance. Tons of detials to still do, so don't look too closely. I have also purchased some art on ebay from self-representing artists and am having fun hanging the new pieces. Now we hope some of the artsy New York folks who are moving into the area will come looking to buy their own personal get-away retreat in the woods, hiking and skiiing trails outside the door, 2 miles to a state beach, and 20 minutes from a cultural center..... so we can move down into town before Fall. If you know any such types send them our way, lol! (that = "lots of laughs" for you blog newbies)

Making Progress

It has been tons of work but we are making progress on our new (renovated) porch/room. The old "3 season porch" will now be the bedroom part of our master bedroom. The old tiny bedroom will be connected and become a sitting room for the master bedroom. Here are photos of this week's "before and after" showing the opening we put between the 2 rooms (accomplished yesterday & today). The pictures are taken from the new room, looking back into what will be the sitting room section. There are three large windows (about 16 linear feet) facing east and south so it is nice and bright. The carpet will be installed in the AM. Can't wait to get everything set up. The furniture, books and various other contents have been piled here and there for 2 months now. More later.
